Welcome to
The Network for International Hydrogen Projects
This network is meant for the engagement of potential project partners for future international hydrogen projects and follows on the information event held on 13.10.2025.
As an attendant you have been granted access to this networking platform.
Here you will be able to:
- compile a company profile and indicate your services and expertise
- search for other potential partners through engaging in the expert’s marketplace
- book video conferences and network with potential partners respectively
This could lead to opportunities of great potential and forming of projects and potential consortia, keeping in mind the project draft submission deadline of 18 December 2025 which also marks the closing of this networking facility.

International Projects – Module 1
Hydrogen is a key element for a climate-neutral energy system and, in addition to domestic production, must also be imported. Therefore, funding guidelines for international projects on the construction of production plants for renewable hydrogen have been amended and published. The measure is intended to support the international market ramp-up and is designed to favour the development of import capacities to Germany and trade relations with potential exporters.
German companies can receive investment cost funding of up to 30 million Euro to successfully place their technologies in this developing market and to further expand and secure Germany's leading position.
Those interested in funding can submit project proposals until December 18, 2025. The BMWE published a call for applications on September 24, 2025.

International Projects – Module 2
BMFTR supports international accompanying projects in fundamental research and industrial research, scientific studies, analyses and training measures. Support is provided for accompanying projects along the entire hydrogen value chain, from production to storage and transport, including overarching, systemic activities. The establishment of relevant research infrastructures is also eligible for funding. The development of operator models related to a module 1 project is supported.
German companies, universities and research institutions can apply for funding for projects, that accompany a module 1 project. A draft submitted in module 2 always needs to refer to the acronym of the corresponding draft submitted for module 1 or to a project already funded in module 1. For research institutions fundamentally funded by federal and state governments additional requirements apply. The intended research must not exceed TRL 3.
Those interested in funding can submit project proposals until December 18, 2025.
